
Now I am going to try and shift gears and spend as much time thanking as I do asking. Then, I thought, how much of my prayer time is given to thanking and praising God and I found it to be very little. The other day I was thinking about my own prayers, how they are mostly composed of requested, things I think I need and want-so I pester God with a long list of “gimme’s”. God wants us to be thankful for all things, the good and the bad, because they are all a part of God’s plan and it always ends up that, “All things work together for them that love God” St. Sure, I can be thankful then-who can’t? But when everything goes wrong and God says a BIG “NO” to my prayers-then how do I respond? Many times I respond like a spoiled child, and I must be a sad sight for Father’s eyes. That takes in a lot of territory! I can easily give thanks when everything breaks right, when God answers my prayers with a big, resounding “YES”. Let’s look at that beautiful, instructive command for a minute or two: “In everything give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”

My guess is that most of you are like I am when I come to the month of November-I am thinking about THANKSGIVING! And rightly so because God has instructed all of His children with the admonition: Dear fellow worker of the Christian Worship Hour :
